A Change To Our Usual Program…

For some reason I can’t get the podcast that I recorded with my mate Drew Harris to work. I’ve tried everything , pretty much so not wanting to leave you with nothing to listen to I have uploaded an old podcast. Is This Thing On 27 from 12th April 2011.

This is how it looked then. I hope all will be back to normal next week until then enjoy…..

In a better late than never podcast this week I played Kodiak Jack, Coloured Lines, Doyle and the Forefathers, John Duffy, Watch With Mothers played Botyov 1791, Matt Taylor and due to an error by me The Hot Vamp Club.

I then finished off with tracks from The Wilton Project and John David Schradar.
A new track off my very reasonably priced  album, now also available as a special issue physical cd and finishing off with the mighty Tom Caulfield.

The every fragrant Watch With Mothers’ Napoleonhas designed a new logo for the podcast.
I hope you like it as you’ll be seeing a lot of it, oh yes.

I kept it simple this week and concentrated on the music. Playing a top mix of tunes from the great Steve Lowis, a great track by Sigurdór Guðmundsson and NOT Menn Arsins as I wrongly said in the podcast, the awesome Rainer Straschill, the glorious Doyle and the Forefathers (sorry I missed your gig last night guys), the huge King Never, the beautiful Lisa Hogan, I played you a live song right off of the mic, after playing one of my favourite tracks from the perfectly formed Matt Stevens,I finished off with the ever changing and brilliant Brian Wilbur Groundstrom.

Napoleon and Swineshead (Watch with Mothers) tell me they are still trapped in the Philippines due to the ash cloud and Apoc has been sent to the naughty step.

Click on some links and get yourself some great new music, preferably  mine.

UPDATE This is the Namaste Indian eatery in Southampton that called me during the recording of the cast

Hi, in this weeks podcast I play Kevin Fisher, Sonny, The Wilton Project, Camp Out, The Fierce and the Dead

Tom Caulfield, Nick Tann (me!) and Matt Stevens all got songs reviewed by Swineshead & Napoleon from Watch With Mothers and what wonderful people they are!

As last weeks First Fifteen was a bit of a washout I decided not to play any of them and played the wonderful Sin and Shame by Birminghams own Carvalho instead.

As I mentioned, I don’t get paid for doing this podcast, I do it because I have a passion for independent music.
If you want to help support me buy some of mine or at least grab some for free!
If you like the music you hear from the other artists WHY NOT BUY THEIRS TOO?

This does contain swears, I forgot to tick the “explicit” box and now I can’t find it!

A bit later than usual due to the fact that I have been stuck to my mac for most of the week and didn’t get started until late.

This week you are lucky enough to hear Tim Farrell, Scot Turchin, Fernwood, The Wilton Project, Matt Stevens and a track featuring my old band People.

Watch With Mothers Swineshead and Napoleon reviewed songs by Ruby on the Vine, Crimson Face and Fleeting silence.

Matt Stevens was missing in action leavinmg me to do a mini rant on how musicians who don’t think they’r egood enough and that everyone is better than The Sugar Babes!

I announced, prematurely, that Kevy Nova had won the First Fifteen when in actual fact Tracy Shaun had won due to a late surge. To make amends, I will play Tracy’s track in full next week.

Camp Out , Simpli Laura and Kenny Sommers are battling it out for this weeks. Vote for your fave on the right.

Not sure how I finished it in time but I did, just!

This week I bought you (in no particular order) Menn Arsens, Amaya Huntley, Kidd Russell, Tom Bishel, Jouis and ME!
A very funny new song review feature with Swineshead and Napoleon from Watch With Mothers (click their button on the right) a hastily edited chat with Matt Stevens about the delights of Soundcloud and Dropbox and an invitation for you to come up with a decent First Fifteen jungle the winner this week (or is it last week?) being the great Matt Taylor whose track “Fat Tuesdays Blue” I played in full at the end of the cast.

A little later than planned due to technical reasons, no really!
