And what a podcast it is.

I play a great track from Flearoy ~ Tiger Lilly, A track from the new album by Georgian megastars Belizer ~ Autumn and a great new track from Wax Ersatz ~ Out In The Cold.

There then follows a great interview with the talented and groovey Cherry Bluestorms Glen Laughlan (not Craig Mclachlan, idiot!)  and Deborah Gee where they tell me about their new album, playing in America and their parrot Winston. Finishing off with playing a new track from their as yet unfinished album Bad Penny Opera.

As a pallet cleanser I then played a lovely tune by Ernesto Shnack ~Build followed by Doyle and the Forefathers ~When Will The Children Learn.

I ended with a comedy tune that I produced for the Hot Potatoes Comedy Podcast ~ Inflammatory Bowel Disease, lovely.

Have a lovely week until the next one!

A Change To Our Usual Program…

For some reason I can’t get the podcast that I recorded with my mate Drew Harris to work. I’ve tried everything , pretty much so not wanting to leave you with nothing to listen to I have uploaded an old podcast. Is This Thing On 27 from 12th April 2011.

This is how it looked then. I hope all will be back to normal next week until then enjoy…..

In a better late than never podcast this week I played Kodiak Jack, Coloured Lines, Doyle and the Forefathers, John Duffy, Watch With Mothers played Botyov 1791, Matt Taylor and due to an error by me The Hot Vamp Club.

I then finished off with tracks from The Wilton Project and John David Schradar.
A new track off my very reasonably priced  album, now also available as a special issue physical cd and finishing off with the mighty Tom Caulfield.

The every fragrant Watch With Mothers’ Napoleonhas designed a new logo for the podcast.
I hope you like it as you’ll be seeing a lot of it, oh yes.

Is This Thing On Podcast 62 Xmas Special Part One

It’s a big one this week enough to keep you going over the festive period as I will be taking a couple of weeks off.

I was joined by that nice Paul Lane from UnplugThejukebox and Doyle and Ben fromDoyle & The Forefathers who apart from playing a brand new song and an old favourite, join us in putting the world of music to rights.

I kick off with a very xmasie tune by the wonderful Salme Dahlstrom followed by Black & White Christmas by Isle of Mann band Postcode. The two “Doyles” then give us a brand new tune call Spend a lot of time alone from their soon to be released album which is then followed by Sometimes from The Lost Souls Club, then Pick up Sticksfrom Super Adventure Club. I then play the the tune that gave me the idea to do an xmas special in the first place We Three Kings by the glorious King Never followed by Paul’s choice Future at Last by the very excellent Woven Bird

That wraps up part one

I kept it simple this week and concentrated on the music. Playing a top mix of tunes from the great Steve Lowis, a great track by Sigurdór Guðmundsson and NOT Menn Arsins as I wrongly said in the podcast, the awesome Rainer Straschill, the glorious Doyle and the Forefathers (sorry I missed your gig last night guys), the huge King Never, the beautiful Lisa Hogan, I played you a live song right off of the mic, after playing one of my favourite tracks from the perfectly formed Matt Stevens,I finished off with the ever changing and brilliant Brian Wilbur Groundstrom.

Napoleon and Swineshead (Watch with Mothers) tell me they are still trapped in the Philippines due to the ash cloud and Apoc has been sent to the naughty step.

Click on some links and get yourself some great new music, preferably  mine.

UPDATE This is the Namaste Indian eatery in Southampton that called me during the recording of the cast
