Is This Thing On Podcast Classic episode 19

Because I am away I have decided to post some old or CLASSIC episodes of the podcast to keep you all interested, hopefully….

This podcast first went live 22nd February 2010 and has all the classic features. I won’t spoil the surprises but I will post the original notes below. Please remember that this is over two years old and some of the information, websites etc, do not exist and/or may have changed. ENJOY

Is This Thing On Podcast 96

I am away on holiday so this podcast is appearing through the magic that is time travel. As I haven’t had many new tracks sent, I have taken the opportunity to go back and play some of the tracks that I played at the very start of the podcasts history.

I played The Wilton Project ~ Diana, The Cherry Bluestorms ~ Diana, Sonny ~ Something in the Water, Sigurdor Guomundsson ~ Gengi? á Gufunum, Paul Liddell ~ Ghost Car, Will Kriski ~ Metal Mayhem, Liz Longley ~ Rush and an old Drunk On Logic Version of All I Think About Is You.

I slipped in an old Watch With Mothers song review, remember them?

Lots of things associated with this podcast will have happened automatically but don’t be fooled, I am in Portugal.

More pre recorded fun next week!

A Change To Our Usual Program…

For some reason I can’t get the podcast that I recorded with my mate Drew Harris to work. I’ve tried everything , pretty much so not wanting to leave you with nothing to listen to I have uploaded an old podcast. Is This Thing On 27 from 12th April 2011.

This is how it looked then. I hope all will be back to normal next week until then enjoy…..

In a better late than never podcast this week I played Kodiak Jack, Coloured Lines, Doyle and the Forefathers, John Duffy, Watch With Mothers played Botyov 1791, Matt Taylor and due to an error by me The Hot Vamp Club.

I then finished off with tracks from The Wilton Project and John David Schradar.
A new track off my very reasonably priced  album, now also available as a special issue physical cd and finishing off with the mighty Tom Caulfield.

The every fragrant Watch With Mothers’ Napoleonhas designed a new logo for the podcast.
I hope you like it as you’ll be seeing a lot of it, oh yes.

It appears that the Markers Mark did the trick this week as I whizzed through the podcast at record speed!

I started off with and old favourite Diana by The Wilton Project, then a most beautiful tune by April Maybe May called Sugar & Mess and then Alibi by Planes Over Paris. Then came my interview with the delightful Anja McClosky who told me all about her imminent tour of America next month. If you’re about try and catch her to say hi.

I also played Anja’s amazing tunes Stephanie IV. Pam Shaffer’s track Henry followed this then a word or two from that nice Paul Lane from Unplug the Jukebox. Steve Lowis’s Rescue and newly named Alligator Indian and their top track Prospect Park.

I finished off with a track I recorded on my honeymoon in 2006, lets just call it Slide.

I hope you enjoyed the podcast, click on something eh?

In another top class podcast I play two tracks from Matt Stevens new album Ghost. Why two you may ask, because it’s that bloody good I reply! I also play a beautiful track from the new album from Eleven & the Falcons, an old favourite of mine from The Visitors, then Apoc, in a new feature, checked out my website, then I played yet another old fave namely Diana by the Wilton Project, Stephan Schwenk played a loverly tune composed by Jeroen Groot Beumer from the Netherlands. I played a rough but sublime track by Lewis Maclean (Mark Bolan anyone?) then an interview I recorded with Steve Lowis with a great song at the end. One of my tunes “Love Lies” I don’t think that is available to download anywhere but will be very very soon.

Please click on someone, buy their stuff or download it for free or join their mailing list or just make a comment about how bloody brilliant they are!

Hi, in this weeks podcast I play Kevin Fisher, Sonny, The Wilton Project, Camp Out, The Fierce and the Dead

Tom Caulfield, Nick Tann (me!) and Matt Stevens all got songs reviewed by Swineshead & Napoleon from Watch With Mothers and what wonderful people they are!

As last weeks First Fifteen was a bit of a washout I decided not to play any of them and played the wonderful Sin and Shame by Birminghams own Carvalho instead.

As I mentioned, I don’t get paid for doing this podcast, I do it because I have a passion for independent music.
If you want to help support me buy some of mine or at least grab some for free!
If you like the music you hear from the other artists WHY NOT BUY THEIRS TOO?

This does contain swears, I forgot to tick the “explicit” box and now I can’t find it!
