Because I had a gig to play tonight, this weeks episode is a little late.

All the usual stuff including a Skype conversation with Paul Lane from unplug the jukebox plus some great music from Dead Social Club Syrian Kisses, Ask Alfie and Karaoke, a live Liz Longley track – Go On, an exclusive track from The Fierce and the Dead – 10×10, a Japanese masterpiece from Lite with Image gam, Sounds under Radio with Effigy and good egg Paul Liddel with Dial tone. I played another track from my vinyl Project but you’ll have to listen to find out which one!

In a classy podcast full of high morals I (with a little help from Izzy) bring you Helen Austin, David Cevoli, Tann-Starr (not me), Kidd Russell, that other live acoustic track from The Rising and Shinsei Kamatachan.

Paul from Unplug the Jukebox came along and waxed lyrical about some band or other.

I asked the question “What have you lost that you want back” and got some very interesting answers. I also read out the results of my submission to the Music Xray focus group with hilarious consequences!

In a packed show this week I play Eastleigh’s sons Broken Links ~ What Are We Waiting For?, Ben Willmott ~ On The Beach, Stone Them Crows ~ Joker In The Pack,

I had a lovely chat with Helen Austin all the way in Vancouver Island and played her tune Take Me Away. Then Coloured Lines ~ Read Between the Lines, Andrew Foster and a song I recorded when he was here a few weeks ago Panic Moon, SRM and his great tune ~Iron Lung Blues, The Spiraltones ~ Lost Weekend, May KB and her beautiful tune The Storm. A perfect tune in Sorrow from show favourites King Never.

I finish off with a live version of Push II the theme music at the top of each podcast since 2008.

This week I am joined by America’s best export Justin Wayne from The Justin Wayne Show with random comments from Izzy and what fun we had.

This is the first podcast that is totally hosted and fed by this website. It’s a farewell to podbean an the old website and hello to all you wonderful new folks as well as a welcome back to all the faithful folk who have followed me so far.

It’s a big one this week enough to keep you going over the festive period as I will be taking a couple of weeks off.

I was joined by that nice Paul Lane from UnplugThejukebox and Doyle and Ben fromDoyle & The Forefathers who apart from playing a brand new song and an old favourite, join us in putting the world of music to rights.

I kick off with a very xmasie tune by the wonderful Salme Dahlstrom followed by Black & White Christmas by Isle of Mann band Postcode. The two “Doyles” then give us a brand new tune call Spend a lot of time alone from their soon to be released album which is then followed by Sometimes from The Lost Souls Club, then Pick up Sticksfrom Super Adventure Club. I then play the the tune that gave me the idea to do an xmas special in the first place We Three Kings by the glorious King Never followed by Paul’s choice Future at Last by the very excellent Woven Bird

It’s another “lets focus on the music as Nick is a bit of a shambles” podcasts this week!

But what amazing music, I kicked off with Three’s Company by the amazing Helen Austin then Can’t You See My Side by the brilliant Haunted Stereo and then Langir Skigger a live track recorded for Icelandic radio by the awesome Menn Arsins . Paul Lane from Unplug The Jukebox and I chatted in my car about The Lost Souls Club.

Then I played the brand new track Panic by the cosmic Gideon’s Demise followed by a new track by Paul Liddell the cracking tune Boots.

I also found space to play a great track called Like a Drug by Australian band The Milkmen

I played a little demo that has the working title Froggy Demca.

Is This Thing On lite

This is the second in a series of mini podcasts aimed at being inserted as a feature in existing podcasts and radio shows and lasts just five minutes.

It features three tracks played on the Is This Thing On Podcast 41 Jazz Special.

First off is Sigurdor Guomundsson with his amazing tune that translates into English as “Running on Empty”

Second is one of mine “Can’t Get Happy” taken from my album Life is a River

I finish off with the great Rainier Straschill who I inadvertently call “Rainier”. He is a prince though!
