Is This Thing On Podcast 62 Xmas Special Part Two

Part two does start, eventually after about 12 seconds, sorry about that but there were technical problems with this one.

Apoc told us the tale of a Canadian Xmas followed by the mighty Matt Stevens with his Xmas address. A great track Fearless by ITTO fave Paul Liddell then Repeat by Tommy Eye (ft Matt Diaper), Odin the Great by Defy 4Unravelling from Liz Longley, a tune from me which you can download for a £1 by clicking hereSarah Griffin bought us close to the end with her brilliant tune poet and the whole chaotic festive jumble was bought to an end by The Lost Boys and their cracking tune I don’t want to be a Christmas Single.

That’s it for this year, the next podcast will hopefully go live in a couple of weeks so keep checking all the usual places.

The new website is close to being completed. You can now catch up with podcast 15 to the present day now with each episode having it’s own little player. Have a look around as it will be the new permanent home very soon.

Hope you have a great time over the holiday and I’ll be back in the new year.

BYE!

This week I was joined by my very good friends Drew Harris and Dave Miles.

As well as singing his famous Subcontinental Travel Sick Blues he also bought a few tracks that he has played on his own fine radio show on BCFM

First off though I played 10,000 leaves by the amazing Bella Kardassis, Dave responded with a fine live track Spider from Bristol artist Andy Skelton. I then countered with In To The Sea by Matt Stevens.
Dave then played his famous tune, the aforementioned Subcontinental Travel Sick Blues live in the studio and then introduced Stanton Delaplaine and his amazing tune Concrete.
It was then time for Paul Lane from Unplug the Jukebox to come and wax lyrical about 30 Pound of Bone and I followed up with Loser Rock by The Lost Boys.
Dave then introduced the sublime Baba Yaga’s Consort playing a live version of their track Snakes.
I closed the show with a rendition of a song I wrote for Dave, imaginatively titled Dave. worth clicking on the link if only just to see a lovely picture of Dave, all poise and sophistication!

A bumper episode this week full of wonderful stuff.

My opening track was from the magnificent Schnauser Schnauser followed by the small but perfectly formed Clara Barker.  An exclusive little track from Indigo Earth (I think), then that nice Mr Paul Lane from Unplug the Jukebox came in and told us about Under the Laurels and Johnny 5th Wheel and the Cowards.  Veronica from Boobie Wednesday told us about her site and if you click here you can see this weeks “pair of the week” and they belong to Veronica herself.

Next came a great track from Japanese indie band Suinseinoboaz with many thanks to Jpoplover for that. The sadly one off “Song Story” featured the the mighty Matt Stevens .

I then played the great Fez mentioning that if you love them or have nothing better to do then pop over to https://www.myspace.com/becksmusic and vote for them. I then played beautiful tracks fro The LCD and Tom Caulfield finishing off with a live instrumental from me.

Is This Thing On LITE #1

Is This Thing On lite

This is the second in a  series of mini podcasts aimed at being inserted as a feature in existing podcasts and radio shows and  lasts just five minutes and features three samples of music from Matt Stevens, Sand River and Sonny.

It’s all part of my plan to take over the world, get people to listen independent non signed artists and to make some bloody money!

Apologies to Ben for doing unthinkable things to his design, I just needed something in a hurry.

In a hastily put together podcast I played the marvelous

Matt Blake, the sublime Real Raj, the perfectly formed

King Never, The wild Will Kriski, the slightly quirky

Tom Slatter, the cruel but fair Haunted Stereo,

the never knowingly undersold Gideon’s Demise and the often

free Matt Stevens.I finished things off with an odd little song

that I hope will feature in a competition I am planning. More about that next week.

I also mentioned Pure Acoustica and Watch With Mothers.

JUST NOTICED THAT I NOW HAVE EXACTLY 1000 SUBSCRIBERS!!!!!

In another top class podcast I play two tracks from Matt Stevens new album Ghost. Why two you may ask, because it’s that bloody good I reply! I also play a beautiful track from the new album from Eleven & the Falcons, an old favourite of mine from The Visitors, then Apoc, in a new feature, checked out my website, then I played yet another old fave namely Diana by the Wilton Project, Stephan Schwenk played a loverly tune composed by Jeroen Groot Beumer from the Netherlands. I played a rough but sublime track by Lewis Maclean (Mark Bolan anyone?) then an interview I recorded with Steve Lowis with a great song at the end. One of my tunes “Love Lies” I don’t think that is available to download anywhere but will be very very soon.

Please click on someone, buy their stuff or download it for free or join their mailing list or just make a comment about how bloody brilliant they are!
